Mooloolaba Reefs
The warm
currents swirling off Mooloolaba attract
large bait fish schools and great marlin
fishing to the area. Blue Marlin, Black
Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo,
Mahi Mahi, Tuna and Cobia are common in
the waters off Mooloolaba. Light-tackle
Marlin and Sailfish fishing is carried
out year-round, but the peak season
falls between September and April.
Heavy-tackle Blue and Striped Marlin
season occurs from February to May and
is one of the most popular fishing
seasons. Although crabbing is allowed,
there is a breeding season from 20th of
Dec to the 20th of Jan, during which
time crabbing is illegal.

blue waters of the Sunshine Coast. Outrigga I is one of the fastest charter
boats out of Mooloolaba, which means less travel time, more fishing time and
hopefully, more fish. The crew onboard will be boating us in the direction of
local reef and game fish, from winter snapper to summer mackerel.
